Honda - 2009 New Car and Truck Line-Up

Honda has introduced three new vehicles to the US market in 2009, including a new hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle. Also, new features have been added for Honda's existing cars and trucks for 2009. With the model year change, Honda has not taken its eye off of reliability or safety. They continue to lead the industry in both areas with their 2009 cars and trucks.

The most interesting new introduction in Honda's 2009 vehicles is the FCX Clarity. The Clarity is a hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle. The motor is rated at 134 horsepower, and the vehicle has a range of 280 miles. The vehicle is produced in Japan and imported to the United States. It is only available for leasing in Southern California, where hydrogen fuel is available for purchase and gas stations.

Honda has also been updating its traditional internal combustion engine line up. The Honda Fit is all new for 2009. Its styling has been improved, and the 1.5 liter four cylinder engine has been upgraded for the new model. The Fit has also received some safety improvements including a longer front overhang to improve crash test ratings.

The Honda Pilot is also a completely new design for 2009. The exterior has been redone to follow the same boxy theme as the Honda Element. It also has an improved passenger compartment with room for eight. A new engine is available for the Pilot. It is a 3.5 liter V6 which produces 250 horsepower.

The Element, Honda's crossover will also received updated styling for 2009. The Honda Element is a compact crossover SUV based on a modified CR-V platform. Finally, the staple of the Honda line up, the Honda Civic, received only a very minor facelift for 2009, which included a new front fascia.

As far as reliability is concerned, Honda has moved from strength to strength with the 2009 models. This is the third year in a row that Honda was ranked the highest of all automotive manufacturers in a recent study on reliability by Consumer Reports. The Honda Element was the only Honda vehicle to not make Consumer Reports recommended list. The vehicle only missed the list by a small margin.

In terms of safety, Honda is also leading the way. For example, the 2009 Honda Pilot recently made the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick List. The Pilot also received the best crash safety rating for both frontal and side impact in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's crash tests. Honda is the only manufacturer to ever have achieved the highest ratings in both the frontal and side impact safety crash tests in all of their light trucks. With those safety results, Honda shows a high commitment to safety and leads the automotive industry.

In summary, Honda has made some significant changes to the Honda Fit and Pilot for 2009. They have also introduced the FCX Clarity for lease in Southern California. As equally important to consumers is the fact that the reliability and safety record of Honda continues to shine and lead the industry in the 2009 line up.
